Payment Processing

Datahost offers a range of payment processing options for your website, including integration with the major credit card vendors. The initial choice you need to make is whether you want to sign up for a Merchant Account or use PayPal to as a means of processing payments on your site.

We recommend starting with a Paypal payment account. This is a low cost option that will allow you to offer online payment option for products purchased on your website while you are getting up to speed with owning and maintaining your online business. Once you have gotten your feet wet, we recommend considering a full-blown merchant account.

To get started with Paypal:

1. Go to
https://paypal.com.
2. Click the Signup Link.
3. Sign up for a Business Account.
4. You will need to fill out a multi-screen form with some basic information. Make sure you use a valid email address when you sign up for the account. When you are done, paypal will send a confirmation to
your email address with instructions on how to activate your account.
5. Click the link in the email to activate your account and follow the online instructions for entering your banking account.
6. Keep your paypal email address and password in a safe place. You will need them when you configure your website with the MightyMerchant Site Manager.

To Get Started with a Merchant Account

If you have an established business or you anticipate that you will be getting more than 3 orders a day, then a Merchant Account is the most sensible way for you to handle your payments. Merchant Accounts do involve some additional costs (a setup fee of approximately $175, a $30 a month "gateway" charge, as well as per-transaction fees), so if you are just starting out, we recommend holding off on the merchant account until you have your site established and have determined your traffic flow.

You are welcome to get your own Merchant Account through another financial institution or vendor, but please contact us first to be sure they offer the Gateway we support (for example, Authorize.net).

If you have questions about the Payment Gateway, please let us know.

About T-Hub

Here are some videos that will show what T-Hub does. Extra features include printing USPS shipping labels and other shipping features, you can also print packing slips and receipts from T-Hub, but you can do that from the MightyMerchant order manager or Quickbooks.

With T-Hub, you enter some configuration parameters when you first set it up and then when you want to transfer orders to Quickbooks, you click a button to fetch the orders from the web site and then use T-Hub to post the orders to Quickbooks.

With Transaction Pro Importer, you log in to your site manager and download a file to your computer. Then you use Transaction Importer Pro to open the file and post the orders to Quickbooks.

With both programs, once you do the initial setup, subsequent transfers require very little effort.

Here is the page about Transaction Pro Importer that shows some screenshots and will give you an idea of how that works:
